Fall Favorites

I have done a couple of favorite posts before and have not done one for fall. It has been awhile since I’ve posted so I thought it would be the perfect time.

ff1

1. Pumpkin Latte & Marshmallow spray from Bath and Body Works $14

This stuff smells like absolute heaven! I love fall scents the best and especially pumpkin. This doesn’t smell too much like that general pumpkin scent but it’s definitely there. It overall has just a very warm smell with yummy coffee notes that is the epitome of fall and I have gotten so many compliments on it. I will have to stock up before the season lets out!

ff4

2. Not Your Mother’s Lock Luster Oil Treatment from Ulta $5.99

My hair gets super dry this time of year and dyeing it doesn’t help so to soften it right back up and give it the moisture it needs this is my go to hair oil. It’s inexpensive, smells great and doesn’t leave my hair greasy.

ff6

3. Mac Pigment Mauvement $21 from Mac Cosmetics

As much as I hate to show you guys a discontinued shade this is my ultimate favorite pigment for foiling over my shadows in the fall. It appears more gold to brown in person rather than purple in my opinion. Other similar shades I’ve seen on their site to get the same effect are rose gold and blonde’s gold they both have frost finishes. I just use my mac fix+ spray on my brush and dab it over my shadows to make them really pop.

ff5

4. Essie Mink Muffs from Ulta 8.99

Beautiful milk chocolate brown nail color perfect for fall. I like pairing it with greens to make it really stand out.

ff8

5. Mac Matte Lipstick in Velvet Teddy from Mac Cosmetics for $16

You can see I have a pattern with the brown shades. I’ve tried other matte nudes by mac but this one is by far the best I usually pair it with my spice liner also by mac or if I want an especially dark lip I pair it with my mahogany liner.

What are some products you can’t live without this fall? Let me know! Or if you use any of these products let me know how the do for you. Thank you for reading and happy fall everyone!

Alice and Cheshire Cat Makeup

wonderland1

These are photos straight from my instagram it isn’t a tutorial I just wanted to share with you guys πŸ™‚ I saw a youtube video for makeup like this by Lucyxx84 and I think her makeup is so beautiful and it inspired me to create this look. I have been wanting to do more cosplay/costume makeup for a while now and decided to practice with this today.

wonderland3

I didn’t do the same colors as the Tim Burton Cheshire cat I wanted to stick with the colors of the animated Alice and I am very pleased with how it turned out. I have many different brands and types of makeup on but the main product I use when doing costume makeup is my NYX jumbo pencil in milk. I have very sensitive skin so I don’t want to use face paint so I love that the NYX pencil is so creamy so I can use it on my entire face as I’ve done in the past with my sugar skull makeup or as a base for my eye makeup. It’s also good to put on your lips on top of your lipstick to add dimension and just blend it out. For all of the lines I make I use a thin tipped liquid liner pen and go back over with pencil and black shadow. For my hair I just pin curled it and let it set while I did my makeup.

wonderland2

Please let me know your thoughts on this look and if you would like to see more cosplay/costume makeup looks with in depth tutorials and if you would what are some characters you would like to see. I am always open to suggestions. πŸ™‚

Summer Beauty Favorites

As the seasons change so do the contents of our makeup bags. This is a simple list of my favorite products for summer, where you can find them and what they typically cost. Some are budget friendly and others are splurges. These are all products I have myself and would buy them all again.

bb5

1. Baby Lips $3 Target, Walmart, Ulta, and most drug stores

I love the baby lips line and the clear is my favorite. Along with the other shades it has a very yummy cent. Oddly this one smells like fruity pebbles to me but I like fruity pebbles so I don’t mind a bit. I have tried so many lip balms because my lips chap so badly no matter the season or weather but with this they are so soft and it gives them a nice shine.

bb4

2. Baby Skin $6 Target, Walmart, Ulta, and most drug stores

I recently purchased this product and I love it. It has a similar texture to smashbox photo ready primer and also feels similar to the porefessional by benefit cosmetics. It blurs away your pores and makes my skin even so that my foundation sets smoothly. It’s very nice to find a product like my high end ones so that I don’t have to spend the extra cash. If you have larger pores I definitely recommend this product.

bb1

3. Mac lipstick in Sunny Seoul $16 Any Mac counter near you my local shop is inside of Dillards

I purchased this lipstick online and I admit I got it for its name and it also seemed like a nice shade of pink. This easily became my favorite spring and into summer color. It is a sheer pink with a bit of a shimmer to it but not too much. It isn’t heavy so it’s great for work or if you are out and about. The formula feels very light so it’s perfect for hot days so you still have nice color without feeling caked on.

bb2

4. Mac Fix+ $21 Any Mac counter near you my local shop is inside of Dillards

I use this spray to set my makeup and it gives you a nice dewy glow. It isn’t just water it is packed with vitamins and minerals and is wonderful for refreshing your face.

bb8

5. Farmhouse Fresh Fluffy Bunny Hand Cream $14 I purchased this at a local boutique but no worries the company has an online shop

This is my favorite hand lotion and I know I keep using the term light but that is summer for me. I want my products to be as light as possible and this just melts into your hands and leaves them silky soft with a nice lavender scent.

bb6

6. L’Oreal Miss Manga Mascara $8 Target, Walmart, Ulta, and most drug stores

No matter the season you always need a great mascara and this is my new favorite. Again with the name! How could I not get it!? The packaging is very cute and I am so impressed with this product. I have tried everything from benefit cosmetics they’re real mascara to makeup forever and they do not compare. Now this is my own personal opinion but it applies so much better than my more expensive brand mascaras. Even one coat is a dramatic difference and it is easily removable. I hope they do not discontinue this product.

bb3

7. St. Ives Pink Lemon and Mandarin Orange Scrub $4Β  Target, Walmart, and most drug stores

You can’t forget about skin care and this is my favorite scrub at the moment. It has a nice citrus scent and always leaves my face feeling soft and very clean.

bb7

8. Sun Beam by benefit cosmetics $26 Ulta and Sephora

This is a beautiful highlight for summer as our skin is a bit more tan or if your like me still pale as ever but would like a nice glow with a touch of color this product is wonderful. It’s a gorgeous pale golden shimmer but not to where it looks as though you’re applying glitter to your face. It just gives you a nice dewy summer sun kissed look.

Have any of you tried these products and what are your thoughts on them I would love your feedback!Β  Also let me know what your summer essentials are and the products you can’t go without πŸ™‚

V-day Makeup With Naked 3

I have not posted in forever! I am so sorry but I promise to post more! With Valentines day coming up this Friday I thought I would do a date night look using my naked 3 palette which is perfect for this occasion because of all of the beautiful blush tones.

vday1

Jumping right into it I used Urban Decay primer potion in Eden all over my lids and a bit under my waterline. Then I used my Nyx jumbo pencil in milk. Not all over my lid but just where I’m going to apply my highlight in my inner corner and on my brow bone later.

vday2

The colors don’t show well on camera but they’re more vibrant in person. I used the shade Limit from Naked 3 all over my lid and then used Nooner in my crease with a fluffy brush and blended out.

vday3

Here right on top of Limit I packed on the shade Mugshot.

vday4

Then I used Darkside on a pencil brush for more precise placement in the outer v of my eye and brought it down on the outer third.

vday5

I picked up more of Darkside on a fluffy brush and put it into my crease and blended it out.

vday6

Here I put Blackheart on top of Darkside just on the outer third and blended out. Then used the same shade under my lower lash line. After that I sprayed my brush with mac fix plus and applied Dust to the center of my lid. I highlighted my brow bone with the shade strange and for the inner corner I used Venus from the Naked Basics palette.

vday7

Then to finish up I just lined my lower waterline a third of the way with a black pencil from Bareminerals and lined my upper lash line with Maybelline line stiletto making a cateye because I can’t be without it and used Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real mascara πŸ™‚

vday10

For my cheeks I used Bareminerals blush in Exhilarate and highlighted with Benefit Cosmetics High Beam. For my lips I first lined them with a pencil from Maybelline in Rose and then used a satin lipstick by Mac Cosmetics in the shade Faux. Right on top of that I used the lightest gloss from Em Cosmetics shade play lip palette in Mix it up Roses.

vday8

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentines day! Have any of you tried the Naked 3 palette? If so let me know what you think! Also I know I haven’t done a geeky post in awhile but I’ve been meaning to review all the manga I’ve been reading lately so I will hopefully get that on here later this week πŸ™‚ -Kelly

Lorde Tennis Court Makeup

tennis6

I have been wanting to do this makeup for so long now so I finally have. This is not a step by step tutorial since the look is so simple but just sharing with you guys πŸ™‚

tennis1

The milkmaid braids are very easy to do. You just create a braid on each side of your head as far down as you can you don’t want too much remaining hair at the end so that you can easily hide it. You could part your hair right down the center but in the video she had it parted to the side so that’s what I’ve done. Then you just wrap each braid around the top and pin in place. When you’re braiding make sure to braid out from your head not straight down as it will make it easier to wrap it.

tennis5

For my foundation I used L’Oreal true match lumi in w1-2 and set it with L’Oreal hydra perfect loose powder in translucent 916. I don’t care for the foundation much but am in love with the powder it has a very nice scent almost like perfume but is not too much. For my lips I used Revlon super lustrous lipstick in the shade black cherry. Her lipstick was much darker but this is the darkest I could get my hands on so I dabbed a bit of a matte black eyeshadow over it and blended. For my eyes I used my Mac paint pot in painterly and put a warm coral color and blended it out with a bit of a matte brown. I then took the matte brown under my lashes and applied some white eyeliner on my lower water line and some mascara but not too much.

Sweet Fall Makeup

I’ve been meaning to do a fall makeup look and I feel like fall is just zooming past and we’re already almost into winter soon but I think this look could work for both πŸ™‚

fall1

I started out just priming my eyes and then taking the shade faint from my naked basics palette applying heaver on the outer corner then lighter as I go in to gradually fade it out so that I can highlight the inner corner. Then took the shade naked 2 from the same palette and took a fluffy brush and applied it to my crease it doesn’t have to be precise it just contours really nice.

fall2

Then I took my nyx jumbo pencil in milk and applied it to my inner corner blending it into the brown on the inner third of my eye and slightly under my lower lash line then topped it with loreal infallible iced latte. To highlight my brow bone I used a different shade because I didn’t want it to be too shimmery so I used venus from the naked basics.

fall3

Here I took crave from the naked basics and patted it on my outer corner. Packing at first then blending out with a fluffy brush then took a pencil brush and took faint and crave under my lower lash line. Blending the two together and fading them down but not too far you don’t want to look like you have dark circles it just makes your lower lashes look fuller.

fall4

Next take any liquid liner and line your upper lash line extending slightly in the inner corner and gradually making the line thicker towards the outer corner. Then with a very light hand take it under your lower lash line two thirds of the way and going past your lid to create the wing and just fill in any gaps. After that I took loreal infallible eyeshadow in the shade amber rush on a pencil brush and applied it under my lower lashes.

fall5

Then I just finished off with some falsies and mascara. These are super cheap ones I think kiss is the brand but you can just use mascara if you like.

fall6

On my lips I used a nude lipstick from jcat andΒ  number 4 from the em shade play palette in mix it up roses and on my cheeks I used an em blush sample I had gotten from an ipsy bag I had received it’s from the natural talent section of the life palette. I hope you found this helpful! Always feel free to ask questions πŸ™‚ -Kelly

Mermaid Costume Makeup

GM8

Just squeezing in one more halloween makeup tutorial before tomorrow. I’ve already done a mermaid makeup look but I wanted to amp it up a bit and use brighter colors I hope you like it πŸ™‚

GM9

First I started out just doing my regular foundation and contouring routine. Normally with darker eyeshadow shades I do this after but I did it first so that I could make my scales.

GM7

I know this looks crazy but If you put fish net stockings over your head and brush on the eyeshadow shades of your choice it makes a very neat fish (mermaid) scale effect. I used a combination of atlantica, fins, blue lagoon and flotsam from my ariel storylook palette from sephora. Any variations of greens and blues will do. You could switch out those colors with pinks and purples or any that you like. I also added some rhinestones using eyelash glue to apply.

GM12

For my eyebrows I filled them in like I would with any brow pencil but used urban decay 24/7 glide on pencil in flipside and all over my lid I used loreal infallible eyeshadow in the shade endless sea.

GM11

Here I used gel eyeliner and got my brush a little wet to make it more opaque and made the outer v and filled in down to my lid then pressed flotsam right on top.

GM10

After that I took the pencil I used on my eyebrows and smudged it under my lower water line. Then I took foxy from my naked basics palette on my brow bone and used loreal infallible shadow in iced latte on my inner corner.

GM13

Last steps I used my nyx wonder pencil in light on my lower water line to open my eyes and used maybelline line stiletto liquid liner on top. Then used pink maybelline great lash mascara. I didn’t get a picture till afterwards but I added a gold glitter liner from hard candy in dream girl on my inner corner and under the inner third of my lower lash line. I also dotted it around the fish scales. This look was so easy to do after I was done with the makeup I put blue hair color on my hair by splat it easily washes out. I also switched my lipstick between mac saint germaine and maybelline perfectly plum. Thank you so much for taking the time out to look at my post and I hope that you found it helpful πŸ™‚ -Kelly
