June’s Lootcrate: Transform!

June 2014 marks my first LOOTCRATE! Cheers!

What can I say? I came across Lootcrate by chance and instantaneously had to have it! I even went as far as to go to my Ipsy and cancel my spot on the waitlist. (For those girls who don’t know: www.ipsy.com – Go now!)

So I don’t have any special unveiling for everyone like what I’m seeing around the interwebs. I think there are plenty of videos to watch if you’d like to watch people open their special little boxes. However, I did take a few pictures of what the Lootcrate contains.

June’s Transform Lootcrate:

  • Marty Mcprime Transformer T-shirt
  • Transformers figurine collectable – Hasbro & The Loyal Subjects
  • Transformers sticker – Hasbro & The Loyal Subjects
  • Hex Bug: Transformer Edition
  • MLG (Major League Gaming) wrist warmer
  • MLG Team Sticker Set – TeamENVY, TeamCURSE, TeamOPTIC
  • MLG Starter Kit – 1 month free GameBattles Premium Access
  • Lootcrate June Button
  • Lootcrate June Booklet
  • 3 Warheads

I was pretty stoked when I opened my Transformers figurine box. I got friggin’ Bumblebee!

.. And also, a Decepticons sticker. Sort of clashes.

All in all, I was pretty happy with all the items that I received in the June Lootcrate.

I just had one complaint. The t-shirt that I ordered was a shapeless square t-shirt. Now, I chose my size under the “Women’s” category so I was kind of expecting a more fitted flattering shirt for a woman’s body. The shirt was not that. It was a box. It made me a box.

I digress. Let me just say that Lootcrate is awesome and if you haven’t had the chance to subscribe, stop making excuses. Go. Go now and subscribe. I have a feeling that each Lootcrate will remind you how good of an investment that this monthly subscription is. I mean, who doesn’t love a goody box filled with geeky merchandise?

Oh, and for everyone’s entertainment.. Let me introduce you to my cat, Iris, and her first experience with a Hex Bug.

Have a great Saturday!

Lorde Tennis Court Makeup

I have been wanting to do this makeup for so long now so I finally have. This is not a step by step tutorial since the look is so simple but just sharing with you guys 🙂

The milkmaid braids are very easy to do. You just create a braid on each side of your head as far down as you can you don’t want too much remaining hair at the end so that you can easily hide it. You could part your hair right down the center but in the video she had it parted to the side so that’s what I’ve done. Then you just wrap each braid around the top and pin in place. When you’re braiding make sure to braid out from your head not straight down as it will make it easier to wrap it.

For my foundation I used L’Oreal true match lumi in w1-2 and set it with L’Oreal hydra perfect loose powder in translucent 916. I don’t care for the foundation much but am in love with the powder it has a very nice scent almost like perfume but is not too much. For my lips I used Revlon super lustrous lipstick in the shade black cherry. Her lipstick was much darker but this is the darkest I could get my hands on so I dabbed a bit of a matte black eyeshadow over it and blended. For my eyes I used my Mac paint pot in painterly and put a warm coral color and blended it out with a bit of a matte brown. I then took the matte brown under my lashes and applied some white eyeliner on my lower water line and some mascara but not too much.

I hope you liked this post and thank you all for supporting Britney and I it means so much to us. -Kelly

Lost in Wonderland

I had the privilege of getting to collaborate with my boyfriend’s beautiful and wonderful cousin Paige. She does such good work and I am so happy to have been photographed by her and her blog is wonderful as well it’s paigelyse.blogspot please give her blog a look.

I have always loved Alice. Ariel is my favorite princess but Alice isn’t a princess. She’s like me and you just trying to escape the everyday.

My Alice sweater is from Forever 21 and so is the spike headband. My big green glitzy ring is from sorrelli and the other is a charm I got from hobby lobby. If you would like to see a makeup tutorial for this just let me know in the comments below. I hope you enjoyed this and as always thank you so much for supporting Britney and I 🙂 -Kelly

Catgirl Look

No tutorial today just wanted to share my headband that I fixed. I got it from hot topic online it originally had crystals on it but they looked really wonky so I used my wood burner to carefully remove them and hot glued the pearls on. Sorry about the lack of posts lately Britney and I have been very busy but will be posting more very soon! Also look forward to my Ariel storylook palette tutorial on Monday. Hope everyone is having a great weekend 🙂 -Kelly

Yesterday I went shopping with some friends and I wanted to show you guys my outfit. Britney and I have touched on makeup but not much of fashion which is a big part of being girly. My style is girly with an edge. I love pastels and florals mixed with things like spikes and combat boots 🙂

Now this wasn’t a part of my outfit but I was excited about it and wanted to show you guys my new spike headband from forever 21 that I got while shopping it is about $4.oo and there is also a neon yellow green one available.

And here’s a picture of me and my girl. Now onto the outfit!

My dress is from Charlotte Russe it was on sale and was about $10.00. The dress is way too short to wear on it’s own and I’m right under 5ft and it’s that short on a tall girl it would be a shirt lol. So underneath I wore my american eagle midi shorts they were $24.00 I believe and should still be available. My purse came from Betsey Johnson I bought it from her website it’s originally $88.00 but I got it on sale for 49.98 but is now $59.98 and comes in many beautiful colors. I got the black to go with everything but the mint is very pretty. The bow bracelet is from charming charlies and is $10.00. I got it while I was shopping yesterday and it matched my outfit so I wore it 🙂 The turquoise spike bracelet came from forever 21. I got it last year and it was about $2.00. Thanks for reading.

Kitties at Play

I have a little apology video for everyone for not posting this past week. My lovely (not) cable company is overactive in their canceling of services if you’re even slightly late in paying their bill.

So… Here is a cute video featuring my two kitties playing where my calico is actually tolerating my little Loki!

Oh! And if anyone has any pet stories or pictures to share, please do!

My Pets are my Children

I have a story to tell!

But first, I want to start off this post by telling you a little about my pets. Let me say right off the bat that I am a huge animal person. If I didn’t live in an apartment, I would literally try to own a zoo’s worth of pets. I’ve owned horses, goats, dogs, cats, lizards, birds, fish, hamsters, gerbils, rats, and the list goes on..

My current “children” include two and a half cats (Remember Loki? Yeah, he’s only half) and a dog. My first indoor cat that I adopted five years ago is my calico, Iris.

I really couldn’t live without this beautiful kitty. She is my world and she has been with me through the most trying times of my life thus far. She comes when I call her by name, she lays on my tummy and purrs when I have a stomach ache, she rubs and licks me to death if I’m crying. I love her.

Le’ second kitty is my chubby tuxedo. Her name is Luna. She is about 2 years old, and is the polar opposite of Iris. Yet, I still love her. I appreciate her affection more because it comes less often but is just as sweet.

Third is the half-kitty. Well, he’s more like a third of a kitty. That would be Loki, the tiny mischief maker I am looking after until I give him to my brother and his fiance.

And last but not least is the pup. Her name is Raven. She is a hound/shepherd mix, and the best mutt ever. She’s very smart and has made a wonderful apartment dog despite her size.

This all brings me to the story that I mentioned above.

This past weekend, I traveled out to my parents’ house to celebrate my brother’s birthday with my family. I prepared everything like I normally do before I leave. I cleaned the litter box, gave them plenty of food, made sure they had water.. Needless to say, Raven and the little Loki went with me. Anywho, everything was packed and ready to go. So.. I left.

The weekend was wonderfully relaxing. We had BBQ, shot the shit, and had a few drinks. Sunday was even more so because I took the first nap I’ve had in ages. I pretty much took my time and was in no particular rush to return to the city. (My parents live in the sticks. <3)

Still, I had to come back sometime. Skipping all the inbetween, I got home and headed up to unlock the door to my apartment. Now typically, Iris is the first one at the door meowing her head off happily that I am home.

But, no happy meowing. I went inside and I think I didn’t notice at first. Then as I set all my stuff down, I looked for my two kitties to say hello. Luna was easy to spot, but no Iris.

I called for her, but no reply. I looked for her, but couldn’t find her. I flew into immediate panic mode with eyes full of tears. I searched everywhere, but she wasn’t there!

Then a long night of pacing up and down our apartment complex ensued, calling for her. I could not stop the tears, and I am not the type to let ANYONE see me cry. But Iris is my baby. It was as if I had lost my own child.

When searching didn’t work, we made flyers. We put them up all over the complex and around the surrounding two blocks. Last night, I couldn’t stay inside. I kept going to balcony and calling for her like every ten minutes. I was distraught; extremely distraught. Tears were commonplace, and by then my eyes were so puffy and my nose so red.

We didn’t find her last night. I went to bed feeling very empty and upset, and woke up this morning feeling the same way. I was having one of two emotions. 1.) Extremely upset and crying. 2.) In complete disbelief.

I went outside a few times this morning and called for her, but nothing. I didn’t expect much. By then, I figured that someone had to have taken her in. She’s pretty and friendly. Why not? Still, I’m not sure which is worse: Someone taking her in and never returning her, or her running loose on the streets.

So I came back inside, cleaned up, and took trash out. While I was outside, I called a couple times but didn’t expect much. I walked over to the dumpster and tossed the trash in and just as I turned to head back inside, I SAW HER!!! She was running up the side of the building toward me! She came back!

I’m such a tough cookie, but I burst into tears when I called her name and she meowed back.

I couldn’t be happier or more thankful this morning to have her back. My pets are my children. They are everything to me, and I would do anything for them.

* Anyone have a similar story to share? Or even pictures of your “children”? I would love to hear and see them, so please feel free.
